Air NZ axes Hamilton international flights

Postby NZSL202 » Mon Oct 06, 2008 4:52 pm

In a major blow, Hamilton International Airport has announced that Air New Zealand will axe its international flights from Hamilton to Sydney and Coolangatta.

What a pity. I wonder what the patronage in Dunedin is like at the moment?

Yeah well I just don't see anything happening until we get some good investment. Even though we have a new terminal and the main strip has undergone extensions to include the potential of extending flight to Asia. This is not enough. I have never used Hamilton Airport, even if I was to travel domestically, I travel with Qantas on that note.
Where is Kiwi Air and their 727 200 :D

Any updates on what's happening with finding a suitable replacement service?

Regarding the terminal upgrades, I know AirNZ was none to please with the amount of money spent on them as they called it a waste :x
